In 1986 parents of children with Intellectual and Developmental (IDD) Disabilities(IDD) created an environment, that was conducive to their children being able to live active, happy, fulfilling lives. This was done by creating an atmosphere of love, competent care, and family.
For 35 years, New Vista has been providing loving, safe, carefully tailored residential services that welcome people of all ages with IDD. New Vista’s overall programming focuses on the goal of independence and the agency’s comprehensive approach includes:
New Vista Ranch is founded by the Herrmann and other families with children with
Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). A generous 15-acre donation from the
Gilcreasse brothers establishes the New Vista Ranch and its first four homes.
In 2006 New Vista expanded to double its capacity and operated eight (8) homes. Two year later in 2008 New Vista opened its first Children’s & Youth Home.
2012 New Vista Operates 22 Homes and Begins Construction on its Engelstad Family
Medical Clinic (EFMC) and future Senior Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) completed in
2014.
New Vista’s Youth Program is Reauthorized and New Vista awaits a new cohort of
children’s laughter filling New Vista Ranch. With the generosity of HomeAid Southern
Nevada and Woodside Homes, the New Vista Youth Homes are ready to welcome new
members to the New Vista Family!
